A wedding that started a venue.
The story of The Knot & Barrel began with something deeply personal. When Savannah and Kalie chose to celebrate their wedding on the family game farm where Savannah had grown up, they turned a place full of childhood memories into the setting for an unforgettable day.
Surrounded by family, lifelong friends and the natural beauty of the property, their celebration sparked a new vision: a venue where others could mark life's most meaningful moments in a setting that feels genuine, relaxed and effortlessly beautiful.
We wanted a place where the day feels like it already belongs to you — the valley, the light, the people you love — and we simply hold the space.
A family legacy
36 years of Lowveld hospitality.
For more than 36 years, Matthew and Sylvia Greeff have welcomed guests to the African bush through Matthew Greeff Safaris. That same passion for hospitality shaped the Gold Valley Gun Club, and now The Knot & Barrel — the next chapter in the same family story.

The estate is open for engagement shoots, anniversaries, milestone birthdays and family portraits — the same valley light, without the full wedding-day production.
